My #EnchantedRockImmortals team and I went on a writing retreat this past weekend.
I had no idea how much I'd needed this reset.
While the lake house's views were inspirational, the company and the ability to concentrate on nothing but my craft restarted my love of writing.

Sunset the first night in the lake house.
When you work in the same space every day, and the space is in your house, it's easy to get distracted by laundry, feeding people, cleaning, reorganizing, working in the yard...you get the idea.
With this getaway, I rediscovered the creative art of putting down words. I'm rejuvenated.
The company attending the retreat with me helped too. Our team worked through the upcoming schedule and some internal issues, and began the birth of plot bunnies for future books.
Snacks, group dinners, laughs, camaraderie, and perfect weather made for a perfect weekend. My book is about one-third of the way finished, which wouldn't have happened while at home. I'm feeling positive and moving forward.
A weekend at the lake is always a great idea.

Sunrise on the last day at the lake house.
