It's...November? I Guess it's Time for NaNoWriMo.

Fourth quarter always flies by and reminds me of the goals I set at the start of the year. I'll wait until December to face those sobering stats.

In the meantime, it's November, which means National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo.) The goal is to write 50,000 words in one month. For those of us in the US, this means writing 50,000 words during a month containing the Thanksgiving holiday.

Why did they pick November? If you have family events, you've effectively eliminated one week from the writing calendar (unless you're okay welcoming guests without cleaning your house or cooking for everyone or spending any time with them.)

Still, I'm using the event to try to force myself to finish a book I started a while back. Since I have about 50,000 words to go on that book, this seems like a great opportunity to finish.

If I finish the draft, I'll have completed a 2022 goal--a two-fer.

I'll keep you posted on my progress.
